Your games are definitely fun in concept I so wanted to see these develop further they also inspired ideas of my own and started to try learning Unity... I can honestly see how you can lose energy and focus. I've tried the essentials and can't get anything to sink in. My bonus scene effects dont work properly or not at all, I can't even get started on the damn gallery scene and the tutorials seem incomplete and not matching the software. Learning doesn't appear to be structured and in a logical order to guide those of us with zero experience and no clue effectively. How did you learn to create what you already have? I really wish I could get some creation going here.
Oh dang! Sorry for the really late reply... I only pop in here once in a very while... ^^;
Anyways... Actually I literally had "Game Development" for College course! XD Still... I also have to say that I never had the time nor energy to put actual effort into my games... the fact I have a really busy life and that I get no monetary return from any of my creative works really doesn't help... T-T
Either way... Yeah... learning Unity can be quite the trick.
I'd advise you to try to find the most complete and full course... even if it is through Youtube tutorials if you don't want to spend money on it...
See the step-by-step on how to create a few games... Best if you do that for a few different kinds of games.
But not only do exactly as it is being taught... actually question yourself about it. Try to learn every "why" behind what each of the things is being done.
How those Unity features work... Check on the Unity API documents to understand the code lines and commands and so on.
And you grow from there.
So basically you watch these full game tutorials, and take it as a "spine" for your basic understandings, as a reference of what kind of stuff can be done... and from there, expand your knowledges searching forbetter understanding how each of these possibilities are done and how they work.
Hi, first off : this will be a long read for a comment. Second : this was very nice! I browsed through your other games (finished Swords & Claws at time of writing), they're fun, and the sheer effort you put in them even as a beginner dev deserves my congratulations! As for your general project of making perfectly casual naturist games, it is also something that I can appreciate. So far, in none of them did it seem gratuitous, awkward or forced – and why should it?
As for Water Warfare itself, so far it's solid, rather responsive, with appropriate graphics for such a humble game and a funny theme. Nice to see a third-person shooter that's not about killing (though the use of the term "ennemies" feels a bit violent, I would have said "rivals", "adversaries" or "opponents" – especially since you already use "soaked" instead of "dead"). The ethnic diversity effort is much appreciated. Nothing to say about the music, it's nothing incredible but it serves everything appropriately. The Theme is definitely there, what with towels "healing", water pools soaking you fast and the campfire slowly drying you - that's a nice touch.
Reading through the comments I see that you are unsure about continuing it ? No pressure, you're the one to decide. If you ever do come back to it though, here are a few gratuitous suggestions : - Aiming is awkward. Someone mentioned a first-person view, though I'd be more in favour of keeping the over-the-shoulder aiming and adding an aiming reticle – or maybe two : one close, one far to adjust the parallax. They could even be water balloon/water drop/beach ball-shaped to keep with the theme - Crouching long enough next to ponds, rivers or the sea to refill the water gun. This would let one bypass the need for bottles to spawn, maybe even get a full refill, but leave the player a "sitting duck" during that time so it would still be risky. Alternatively, higher water bottles and lower towels spawn rates. - Limited sprinting. Since it is already hot under the sun, there'd be a cooldown which would be removed faster if the player character gets splashed in the mean time - AI that would discourage opponents from jumping in the river because they're pursuing you ; in the campfire level, it seems one can just camp (no pun intended) on that little "island" in the corner and just wait for people to jump in the river, adding to the soaked opponents count - The palmtree feels like one should be able to pass under it but it's solid. It'd be nice if it either looked more unpassable, or only the trunk was solid and not the leaves - The option for stockier, fatter body types. Body positivity is a huge part of naturism, and I see you added "vitiligo" skin which is already amazing ; but everyone is still very thin (and smooth, but more on that later). The larger hitbox of heavyset characters could be balanced with more "health" (as the body has more surface and thus takes longer to soak), holding a bigger water gun or being able to carry more water balloons at once. - Since we're talking body image, the character creator is admirably complete for a humble game made by one person, but it could use options for body hair, wrinkles, maybe ordinary scars like stretch marks. So far, everyone is looking really smooth and within current western beauty standards. - No relation but it feels so weird to play this while reading Dune on the side
Anyhow, feel free to disregard any/all of those suggestions if you are already planning to implement them in a later version, or just don't find them relevant. And good things to you, keep up the awesome work!
Glad you liked my games that much, and also thanks for such complete feedback! ^^
And indeed... ^^;
The truth is that I already have way too much stuff to deal with in my life, and too many ideas, too many projects, too little time to work on these bigger ideas, and too little capacity of keeping focusing in only one thing for too long! ^^;
So yeah... ^^;
I actually would love to be able to put some actual effort into my games, but I just can't can't get the time nor energy to do it, and the fact I don't make a penny from them while simultaneously working on a job I don't like and trying to find a better job really doesn't help much with the situation... what once again, are things that many other independent game developers deal with... but my inability to actually focus and be always wanting to create other stuff ends up being a huge drawback... ^^;
But yeah... for Water Warfare I indeed wanted to create more body diversity... more options for the bodies, being more slim, medium, large, short, tall, muscular, younger, older, add trans and hermaphrodite bodies and bodies with prosthetic limbs... also wanted to add body hair options, scars, tattoos and accessories (such as glasses, hats, duck buoys etc.)... but in the end, I am terribly bad at 3D modelling and texturing, and rigging and painting sking weight are a nightmare capable of breaking my files to such a frustrating degree that this game was stuck in a limbo twice (first one for 2 years, second time another year) because I just gave up trying to deal with that! ^^;
So when I managed to get at least 2 body options I decided I'd release the first version of the game with that before I could give up on the game again! XD
Aaahhh.. ^^;
Either way... in the end, as one of the very few naturist game developers out there, I decided more not-that-good games, but trying different styles and appealing to different audiences could be better than just trying to make one single excellent game, and only pleasing one small group of players...
But yeah... more projects awaits in the future! ^^
Perhaps I visit back these game I already published for some updates, but can't promise anything... ^^;
I tried this out today. It was a cute basic demo. I hope to see a more complete version in the future. It would be nice to have a 1st Person View, a better indication of when water is hitting a person, and more water refills. Half my time running in circles was just waiting for a water bottle respawn. This is definitely the most developed naturist-style game I've ever seen though. That is both sad for the past, and hopeful for the future. We need more naturist content in the world.
And indeed... The world needs more naturist content for sure, and I am glad to see more naturist content creators appearing and getting creative! ^^
As for me... Yeah... I just have waaay too many ideas, and waaay to little time, energy or focus for them... That is why most of my most ambitious projects end up being just a "demo" of themselves... ^^;
I do hope to come back to this game in the future, or at least make new ones... Unfortunatelly it is not something I can assure... ^^;
So... yeah... that is an extra complication for m... ^^;
Apple does love keeping their monopoly over stuff, so... The only way to create a build for Apple devices, is generating the build from an Apple device...
Once I don't have one, it is literally impossible for me to generate that build! ^^;
So i played it today for short while and i gatta say you really did well on this maan , awesome progress ^^ This has to be rare and very first 3D game with naturist content ever getting made in progress. Wish there was more non-s#xual full nudity games like this exists once again.

Fun, it definitely has a ways to go and hopefully doesn't get cancelled. As a lover of your art i hope this takes off

Also... indeed. I agree.
World really needing more of this kind of content! ^^
Cool game! Nice job as always!
Thank you! ^^
Super excited for this to come out!! ^^
\(^-^)/
But well... don't put too much expectations...
This release version is just the bare minimum for the game to be playable so...
I mean... theorically it is a survivor mode, so you can play as much as you can, but... not much actual gameplay content... ^^;
